Wellington Figure Skating Club is the only figure skating club in the lower North Island. We’re a community of people that are passionate about figure skating, and welcome people of all ages and stages to join us. We are affiliated to the New Zealand Ice Figure Skating Association who are in turn affiliated to the International Skating Union.
We provide ice skating classes from beginner through to advanced level. Our beginner and elementary/basic classes provide a good foundation for all skaters, whether they wish to continue on to figure skating, or to move into other skating disciplines such as ice hockey, freestyle, speed skating, or just skate for pleasure.

Our Coaches
The rink is at Daytona Adventure Park in Upper Hutt.
Ice Skates are available for hire from the rink, however, you’ll want to buy your own as you progress.
Figure Skates and skating gear
There are two main suppliers in New Zealand: Specialist Skating and Skater’s Edge
Both companies provide exceptional service and we recommend that you contact them both to see their range of boots, blades, and skating apparel. Getting the right fit is very important with figure skates, so they both offer virtual skate fitting services for skaters who don’t reside in their area.
We recommend that you get guards for your skates to protect your blades when walking off the rink, and consider protective accessories such as knee pads, elbow pads, crash pants, helmet etc as appropriate to your level of skating.
